This soap saver is made of cotton and suitable for a wonderfully scented soap. You can use it with saver and all. The soap saver (with a soap) is also very nice to give as a present. You can combine the soap saver with the washcloth, massage bath puff and/or reusable face scrubbies.

  • Used yarn: ¼ ball of cotton yarn Rio Uni van Lammy Yarns, color of choice.
  • Size 3.0 mm and 2.5 mm crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge.

  • Wooden bead with a big hole or a cord lock with spring
  • Yarn needle
  • Scissors

 

MEASUREMENTS

The soap saver measures approx. 12 x 8 cm, suitable for a soap of approx. 10 x 7 cm.

 

GAUGE

20sc and 23 rows = 10x10 cm (4 inch) with 3.0 mm crochet hook

 

ABBREVIATIONS AND STITCHES IN PATTERN:

ch = chain

st(s) = stitch(es)

sl st = slip stitch

sc = single crochet

dc = double crochet

tc = treble crochet

sc2tog = single crochet 2 together

 

SPECIAL STITCHES

The chain arches stitch: *Ch 5, 1sc in the 3dch (in the middle of the ch 5) of the next chain arch* Repeat from * to * till last chain arch of round, crochet ch 2 and end with a tc in the 1ststitch (this is your last chain arch of that round).

 

The crabstitch (reverse single crochet): A crabstitch is a single crochet backwards. So you crochet from the left to the right. The stitch is also called reverse single crochet stitch.
