This jute basket is made with the basket weave stitch. You can do some gifts in the basket or just use it yourself. Jute rope/twine crochets probably a little stiff and is hairy (especially when you made a mistake and you have to rip out your work ), but it is really worth it.

MATERIALS
Used yarn: 1,5 ball of Jute Twine of approx. 75 m and approx. 185 g. Thread thickness is approx. 3 mm
Size 6.0 mm (US J/10, UK 4) crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge and made of steel, not wood because of the stiff thread.

MEASUREMENTS 
The jute basket measures has a diameter of approx. 19 cm and is approx. 14 cm high.
 
GAUGE
11sc and 11 rows = 10x10 cm (=4inch)
 
Special Stitches:
The basket weave stitch: Crochet *2 FPdc, 2 BPdc*. Repeat from * to * till end of round or row.
Front Post double crochet: Yarn over, insert hook in front of post around the back, yarn over, pull up a loop. Now you have 3 loops on your hook and finish with a double crochet.
Back Post double crochet: Yarn over, insert hook in back of post around the front, yarn over, pull up a loop. Now you have 3 loops on your hook and finish with a double crochet.
